What do we mean by sexual health?
Sexual health is “a state of physical, emotional, mental and social well-being in relation to sexuality; it is not merely the absence of disease, dysfunction or infirmity. Sexual health requires a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, as well as the possibility of having pleasurable and safe sexual experiences, free of coercion, discrimination and violence. For sexual health to be attained and maintained, the sexual rights of all persons must be respected, protected and fulfilled” (World Health Organization, 2006).
When you step into my office, you'll be welcomed with understanding and will benefit from my experience in guiding clients to wholeness. You'll have a framework to tackle the problems that confront your personal life or career, as an individual, a couple wanting to communicate, or as a parent, caregiver, or family. In therapy, we'll take the steps that are right for you. That may mean discovering together past or present traumas, exploring your family of origin to understand its impact, and constructing steps for moving forward. Your body may also offer clues to how you respond to circumstances and I can show you how to become aware of those important messages. Signals that the brain sends clearly affect responses throughout your body. I'm located in Silverlake, just north and east of Los Angeles, a community filled with wonderful and creative people. I've spent much of my career in the entertainment world so I welcome clients from that industry and know first-hand the unique pressures they face.
Sit back and relax and let Therapy guide you to a more fulfilling life.
